For the second year in a row, Purdue has teamed up with a local brewery and will releasing a special beer for Saturday’s Homecoming game against No. 23 Boston College.

According to the Lafayette Journal & Courier, Purdue and People’s Brewing Co. have collaborated to create its second, sanctioned signature beer, Boiler Black. A year ago, the two parties cooperated and developed Boiler Gold.

People’s Brewing owner Chris Johnson described Boiler Black as an “American style porter with roasted malt flavors and a black appearance.” The beer will be sold inside Ross-Ade Stadium on Saturday.

There is expected to be a release of the beer in stores in Indiana and Illinois in the coming weeks.

Last year, Boiler Gold was a popular choice in West Lafayette and at Purdue events. So much so that people had to be limited on their purchases. Before putting a limit on sales, People’s Brewing struggled to keep up with demand.

Purdue (0-3) hosts No. 23 Boston College (3-0) at Ross-Ade Stadium on Saturday. The game is scheduled for a 12 p.m. kick.
