Purdue will be without 2 top players for bowl game vs. Tennessee
It was announced on Monday that Purdue is going to be missing 2 key players for the Music City Bowl against Tennessee.
Wide receiver David Bell and defensive lineman George Karlaftis will be sitting out the bowl game, coach Jeff Brohm said Monday when speaking with reporters. Both Bell and Karlaftis have already declared for the NFL Draft, opting to forego their final years of eligibility.

Bell had 1,236 yards receiving with 6 touchdowns this season, while Karlaftis had 25 solo tackles, 4.5 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles. Both were named to the AP All-America team on Monday, with Bell earning a spot on the First Team.
ESPN’s Todd McShay has Karlaftis as the 7th-best player in the 2022 draft class. Bell didn’t make his list, but is projected to be drafted. It’ll be interesting to see where these 2 standouts for the Boilermakers end up in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Purdue (8-4) and Tennessee (7-5) play in Nashville, Tennessee for the Music City Bowl on Dec. 30 at 3 p.m. ET on ESPN.
