Purdue WR listed as starter after missing opener vs. Oregon State
Boilermakers wide receiver T.J. Sheffield is listed at the top wideout spot going into Saturday’s matchup against UConn. He got the top spot over true freshman Deion Burks after missing the season-opener against Oregon State due to an undisclosed reason.

Sheffield hasn’t put up a lot of big numbers while at Purdue for the last 2 seasons. His best season came in 2019 when he finished with 2 receptions for 12 yards. For his career, he has just 4 catches for 23 yards and no touchdowns.
Earlier in the offseason, Sheffield was reportedly charged with battery on a public safety official, according to The Journal & Courier.
Sheffield will look to help Purdue start out 2-0 this season and potentially have the best game of his collegiate career as well, especially since he’s starting.
Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. ET and it’ll be televised by CBS Sports Network.
