There aren’t many college quarterbacks who can put up the kind of numbers David Blough had last weekend. It’s the reason he was the B1G Offensive Player of the Week and the Rose Bowl Player of the Week, despite Purdue’s 40-37 loss to Missouri.

Blough put on a clinic on Saturday, throwing for 572 yards and three touchdowns with just one interception. He did all that while completing 71 percent of his 55 passing attempts.

Over the last few days, Blough has been asked about his big outing. He says that he was in the zone against Missouri and that he was visualizing the big plays.

“I saw the night before that I was going to throw that touchdown to (Brycen) Hopkins in that corner,” Blough said. “We practice it. I practice those things. I saw it happen.

“You get in the zone. Pitchers talk about it and I think player do to. When you relax, it just flows.”

Unfortunately, Blough’s big outing wasn’t enough to land Purdue it’s first victory. The Boilermakers are 0-3 on the season and will face No. 23 Boston College Saturday.

Blough’s 590 yards of offense set a new B1G record.
