Purdue's Jaden Ivey earns high praise after winning U-19 gold medal with Team USA
Purdue guard Jaden Ivey was the breakout star of the United States’ run to the gold medal at the U-19 FIBA World Championships this summer.
Team USA clinched gold on Sunday afternoon with a 83-81 victory over France. Ivey scored a team-high 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting and also grabbed four rebounds.
Here’s Ivey’s reaction to winning gold:

Ivey was impressive throughout the tournament for Team USA. He was named to the All Tournament team on Sunday as well.
For the tournament, he averaged 12.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.6 steals per contest across seven games.
Ivey is a rising sophomore at Purdue. Last season, he produced 11.1 points and 1.9 assists per game for a Boilermakers team that improved as the year went on.
Praise for Ivey has been rolling in all week, but it peaked on Sunday afternoon. He’s expected to be one of the leaders on a Purdue team that could make the Final Four next season.

16 points, 4 steals, 3 steals for Purdue's Jaden Ivey, helping to solidify a place on the FIBA U19 World Cup all-tournament team. Likely the best athlete at the tournament; had some incredible moments defensively and in the open floor all week. Breakout sophomore season coming. pic.twitter.com/WdIbECxDYg

USA beats France to win the gold medal at the U19 World Cup in Lativia. Nice performances down the stretch from Mike Miles, Jaden Ivey, and Kenneth Lofton Jr., who was featured in crunch time.

Key takeaway from the USA vs France u19 championship game ? Jaden Ivey completely took over down the stretch on both ends of the floor and single handily won the game for team USA even in limited minutes. He is special. Lofton Jr also played incredible
