Jeff Brohm’s Purdue Boilermakers are the talk of the college football world.

Fresh off a 49-20 beatdown over Ohio State, Brohm’s name of course has come up in potential coaching vacancies. This happens in any sport. Anytime a coach from a non-traditional power starts to get a team performing like a powerhouse, that coach gets major attention.

Purdue’s offense is sizzling hot right now and Brohm and his play calling are part of the reason why. Offensive players on Purdue even thank the coach for what he does for the team.

On Thursday, after the team’s practice ahead of the game against Michigan State on Saturday, Brohm was asked about all the questions he’s been receiving lately regarding a potential coaching change.

“I don’t think people realize how good it is here (at Purdue),” he said.

Brohm also talked a bit about recruiting and how that’s been going, along with Rondale Moore — Purdue’s star freshman WR:

“Our players in the recruiting world understand exactly where we’re at,” Brohm said. “We feel very confident in our future here. We have room to improve. The fact that Rondale Moore has come here and been a difference-maker and everybody has seen what he can do basically in one game, but also through his first seven games of this year, is a testament that it can happen if you come here.”

As long as Purdue keeps winning, it will get more and more attention. And the rumors of Brohm potentially leaving for a bigger school will continue to arise.

But if he likes it at Purdue and he’s able to get guys like Rondale Moore that fit his system perfectly, is there really a need to change places?

We’ll find out eventually.
