Purdue’s offense may have taken a blow.

In the second half of Purdue’s meeting against Cincinnati, star running back Markell Jones left the game with an apparent shoulder injury.

Jones ran for 145 yards and a TD last week against Eastern Kentucky, leading all B1G backs in yardage. He left Saturday’s contest with 47 yards on 15 carries.

Any significant injury would be a huge blow to Purdue’s depleted backfield. In April, the Boilermakers lost backup running back D.J. Knox for the year after suffering an ACL injury.
