Purdue has reportedly made some decisions on its coaching staff for the 2022 season.

Tom Dienhart of Gold and Black Illustrated is reporting that is hiring four new assistant coaches for the upcoming season and will be moving one current staff member to a different role.

Per Dienhart, Purdue will be hiring Ashton Youboty as the cornerbacks coach, Garrick McGee will coach linebackers and Neil Callaway will be a senior consultant.

Ryan Wallace, who was previously on staff as a special teams assistant, will be the tight ends coach and assist with the offensive line. David Elson, who was a quality control analyst last season for the Boilermakers, will lead the linebackers.

Youboty is an Ohio State graduate who had stops with the Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars during a 6-year career in the NFL. He spent the last two seasons coaching cornerbacks at Youngstown State. Before that, Youboty was on Wisconsin’s staff for three seasons as an analyst.

McGee brings plenty of B1G experience to West Lafayette. His most recent B1G stop was at Illinois, where he was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for Illinois from 2016-17. He was also at Northwestern from 2004-07, serving in various offensive roles.

Most recently, McGee worked at Florida for the past two seasons, first as an analyst then as a quarterbacks coach.

Like Elson and Wallace, Callaway has been on Purdue’s staff for the past two seasons in an analyst role.
