Purdue has a big game against in-state rival Notre Dame this Saturday in South Bend, IN.

One of the Boilermakers’ most famous traditions will not be able to perform this Saturday.

The Boilermakers marching band has the “World’s Largest Drum” that they play every Saturday during football in the fall.

Sadly for the first time since 1979, the drum will be missing the performance because the drum cannot fit through the visitors’ tunnel, and Notre Dame will not let it travel through the main tunnel where the Irish come running out.

The Boilermakers are 2-0 to start the season and have wins over two FBS opponents in Oregon State and UConn.

The Fighting Irish are 2-0 as well, but they have needed the Luck of the Irish in both games to escape with victories at Florida State 41-38 in OT and vs. Toledo 32-29.

The Boilermakers and Fighting Irish face off at 2:30 ET on NBC.
