Father and son will be reunited on the football field in West Lafayette next season, according to a report.

Mike Carmin of the Journal & Courier is reporting that Ben Holt, the son of Purdue defensive coordinator Nick Holt, is expected to join the Boilermakers after graduating from Western Kentucky this spring. He will be a graduate transfer and will be immediately eligible in 2019.

Holt played three seasons at WKU and was a captain for the Hilltoppers last fall. As a linebacker, he’ll provide much-added depth to a position that’s losing quite a bit.

Last season with Western Kentucky, Holt totaled 116 tackles and 11.5 stops for loss, leading the team in both categories. He was an All-Conference USA honorable mention for his efforts in 2018.

Holt played under his father and Jeff Brohm at Western Kentucky for two seasons (2015-16), before Brohm and Co. left for Purdue. He was redshirted in 2015, his first year with the program.

Purdue finished with a 6-7 record last season.
