One day after Purdue’s 48-45 win overtime win over Tennessee in the 2021 Music City Bowl, its star linebacker Jaylan Alexander made his decision for his future.

Alexander announced on his Twitter on Friday, he would be declaring for the 2022 NFL Draft, ending his stellar career at Purdue.

In four seasons at Purdue, Alexander has accumulated 226 total tackles, 142 solo tackles, 16.5 tackles for loss, 5 pass breakups, and 2 forced fumbles. This season was his breakout season as he accounted for 113 total tackles, 69 solo tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 3 pass breakups, and 1 forced fumble.

Alexander saved one of his best performances for last in the Music City Bowl as he accounted for 19 total tackles and 10 solo tackles.

Alexander was the team’s leading tackler for a Purdue defense that ranked 36th in the nation in points allowed per game (22.4).
