Purdue is at least losing one of its talented big men this offseason.

Thursday evening, Trevion Williams shared a note to Purdue fans on Instagram to confirm he is heading to the 2022 NBA Draft. Williams also announced he will be signing with an agent which would solidify his decision and eliminate his remaining eligibility.

“What a ride this has been,” wrote Williams via his Instagram page. “Four years ago, when I started this journey at Purdue, there was no way to envision what my time here would become. It’s been filled with many more highs than lows, and I wouldn’t trade one second of this journey for anything. My brothers and I have accomplished a lot, and I hope that we leave this program in better shape than when we arrived.

“It’s time for me to take the next step in my basketball journey and will be entering my name in the 2022 NBA Draft and signing with an agent.”

Williams has been a key piece for the Boilermakers during his time in West Lafayette. During the 2021-22 season, he willingly took a backseat to Zach Edey, appearing in 37 games with just 4 starts.

Even with a role off the bench this season, Williams averaged 12 points, 7.4 rebounds and 3 assists while shooting 55% from the field. Best of luck to the big man as he heads to the NBA.
