Purdue is set to host No. 16 Iowa at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday at Ross-Ade Stadium.
The game will be televised on ESPN2.
While the football game will undoubtedly be entertaining, a sight to see will be had after the first quarter. Following the opening quarter of each game Iowa plays at its home, the players, coaches and fans at Kinnick Stadium all take time to wave to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s hospital.
This is a tradition that started in 2017, and during last year’s Purdue-Iowa game, Tyler Trent — a former Purdue student currently battling cancer — went to the game and took part in the wave tradition.
He loved it, and he tweeted out on Wednesday that at Ross-Ade Stadium during the game, he wants to wave again:
I’m happy to announce that as long as my health allows, my family and I will be @RossAdeStadium to cheer on @BoilerFootball as they take on the @HawkeyeFootball this Sat. @ 3:30pm on @espn. We will take time to wave to @UIchildrens at the end of the 1st quarter. #BoilerUp pic.twitter.com/1NbO2iB741

This is an awesome gesture coming from a better-than-awesome person. Trent had many replies:
