Wake Forest has officially hired former Purdue defensive coordinator Brad Lambert for their defensive coordinator vacancy.

Lambert is grateful for the opportunity at Purdue and for what lies ahead at Wake Forest.

“Wake Forest is a special place and I am fired up to return to Winston-Salem and build off the sustained success Coach Clawson, his staff and the student-athletes have achieved,” Lambert said. “I want to thank our players at Purdue for all their hard work and dedication over the past year and Coach Jeff Brohm for giving our family a chance to join the Boilermaker community. I look forward to getting to know our players and hitting the ground running this spring.”

The Purdue defense ranked 34th nationally in scoring defense (22.4 points per game), 24th in first down defense (18.4 per game), 23rd in red zone defense (.756) and 33rd in passing yards allowed (208.7 yards per game).

Purdue finished this season with a 9-4 record and an overtime victory vs. Tennessee in the Music City Bowl.
