WATCH: Ex-Purdue DC, Illinois State head coach Brock Spack shaves mustache after big win
Brock Spack spent a lot of years at Purdue. He was a linebacker for the Boilermakers from 1980-1983 and later became a defensive coordinator under Joe Tiller, serving in that position for 12 years.
But if the former Boiler stepped foot in West Lafayette now, people would have a really difficult time recognizing him. His patented mustache is now gone.
Spack shaved his mustache following Illinois State’s 51-3 win over Southern Illinois on Saturday, keeping a promise that if the Redbirds won by 35 points or more, he’d say goodbye to the facial hair.
Of course, everyone had to capture the moment.

BREAKING: The Spack Stache is no more!
Coach Brock Spack said he promised the team that he would shave if they won by more than 35 points tonight. The Redbirds won 51-3! pic.twitter.com/Kyq17WB34Y— WZND Sports (@WZNDsports) October 13, 2018
Spack might even be able to walk into his own locker room without anyone recognizing him.
Illinois State is off to a 5-1 start this season following the win over Southern Illinois. And the Redbirds have had real success under Spack, who is 73-41 in his 10 seasons with the program.
Next week, the Redbirds have a huge challenge, taking on North Dakota State. If they get a win next Saturday, the bald lip might become a permanent look for Spack.
