WATCH: Former Purdue players talk about great, late coach Joe Tiller
Joe Tiller was a phenomenal coach.
Any Purdue football fan and Big Ten football fan who watched the Boilermakers play back when Tiller was in charge could tell you that. He coached at Purdue from 1997-2008 and went 87-62 overall.
Tiller put together three different 9-win seasons at Purdue and made a Rose Bowl appearance in 2000. He passed away at age 74 on Sept. 30, 2017.
Just about a year after Tiller’s death, some former Boilermaker players talked about the coach they would never forget:

Tiller, among many things in the video above, was described as a man who was positive, pushed his players to be better both on and off the field and displayed confidence. One player said, “It was an honor playing for him.”
