The first touchdown of the Foster Farms Bowl went to Purdue.

On the Boilermakers’ first drive of the game, quarterback Elijah Sindelar hooked up with receiver Anthony Mahoungou, who then slipped past a defender and bolted 31 yards for the end zone. The touchdown was the first scoring play of the contest.

That touchdown was the 15th of the season for Sindelar and the seventh scoring reception for Mahoungou on the year.

Purdue will need plenty more of those plays throughout the remainder of the Foster Farms Bowl to keep up with a high-octane Arizona offense that averaged over 40 points per game this season.

The Boilermakers sure got off to a great start.
