Purdue started the season off on the right foot.

The Boilermakers found themselves in a four-quarter fight against Oregon State on Saturday night in West Lafayette. Quarterback Jack Plummer, tight end Payne Durham and wide receiver David Bell did just enough offensively to lift the the team to a 30-21 victory at Ross-Ade Stadium.

The defense, which went through some major changes during the offseason, also made some critical plays in the game.

Plummer finished the game completing 29-of-41 passes for 313 yards and 2 touchdowns. Durham and Bell combined for 15 of those catches for 254 yards. Durham caught both touchdown passes.

Defensively, Jalen Graham and Cam Allen had big games for the Boilers. Graham ended the night with 6 tackles, 3 pass break-ups and a sack. Allen finished the game with 5 solo stops and an interception.
