Purdue extended its lead to 14-0 on Saturday against Illinois with a long touchdown. Surprisingly enough, that pass didn’t go to David Bell.

Nope. This time it was Milton Wright. He got behind both Illini defenders and streaked into the end zone on a 45-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Aidan O’Connell, who is off to a perfect 7-for-7 start.

Wright did come in with high expectations but had been overshadowed by Bell and absent Rondale Moore. But it was hard to miss Wright on that play.

So far, Purdue looks like it’s leaving off right where the Boilermakers were last week with a potent passing attack. Meanwhile, the Illini look like their right back to being as incompetent as they were in Week 1 against Wisconsin.
