Zach Edey and the Purdue Boilermakers took down a good Xaiver team at the Gavitt Tipoff Games late Monday night.

The Boilers had an 8-point lead heading into the 4th quarter and kept it, winning 83-71. The Musketeers played No. 2 well but losing the final 10 minutes of the first half dug them into a deep hole.

And Edey was Zach Edey: Unstoppable. The Reigning National Player of the Year dropped 28 points with 11 rebounds and 4 blocks. He’s somehow improved his abilities on the defense end so far this season, a major plus for the Boilers moving forward.

Purdue also shot the ball well from the field, hitting 46% of their 3-point attempts and just under 53% from within the 3-point line. Purdue had more rebounds, more assists, more blocks and 6 less personal fouls when the full 40 minutes were up.

Purdue is now 3-0 on the season and will play Gonzaga next Monday in Hawai’i for the first round of the Maui Invitational. The Maui field is incredible and features Purdue, Gonzaga, Tennessee, UCLA, Kansas, Marquette, Chaminade (home team) and Syracuse.
