Zach Edey is a name that need no introduction.

The best player in college basketball posted a career high Sunday in Purdue’s dismantling of Michigan State. The Boilermakers won 77-61, seeing Edey drop a career high 38 points with 13 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and a block. He was 15-24 on the afternoon. That’s Edey’s 5th 30-point game and 17th double-double of the season.

And when the 7-foot-4 junior is on like that, Purdue is just about unbeatable.

Purdue affirmed its place as the No. 1 team in the country Sunday. Alabama lost and Houston struggled against Cincinnati, with Tennessee making a legitimate case for No. 2 after beating No. 10 Texas in Knoxville.

The Boilermakers play next against Penn State, which just beat the brakes off Michigan 83-61. The game is set for Wednesday, Feb. 1.
