The Boilermakers as a whole took a lot of free throws. Purdue made 22-of-31 shots from the charity stripe. Florida State actually made a higher percentage of its free throws, but did not take as much. The Seminoles hit 12-of-14 free throws.
Purdue managed to limit the mental mistakes by committing 15 fouls compared to Florida State’s 24. The Boilermakers also out rebounded the Seminoles 46-31.
Braden Smith finished the game with 13 points while Fletcher Loyer had 11 points on the night. The team also shot nearly 50% from the floor, making 46.4% of their field goals.
After the win against Florida State, Purdue starts B1G play next. Minnesota is the first B1G team that Purdue must face this season. The Golden Gophers are 4-3 under second-year coach Ben Johnson.
The Boilermakers have now won seven games in a row and are showing they have what it takes to be a top 10 team so far.
Minnesota and Purdue tip off from West Lafayette on Dec. 4 at 5 p.m. ET on BTN.
