Bo Melton is headed to the West Coast.

Saturday afternoon, the Rutgers wide receiver was selected in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He was the first Scarlet Knight taken, going No. 229 to the Seattle Seahawks.

Melton’s selection means that 13 of the 14 B1G schools are represented in this year’s draft.

Melton was Rutgers’ leading receiver each of the past three seasons and ranked No. 2 on the squad in 2018. Because he played on some struggling Scarlet Knights squads, he didn’t get as much attention as he deserved.

Over the course of his career at Rutgers, Melton piled up 2,011 receiving yards and 11 touchdown catches on 164 receptions. He also had 2 rushing touchdowns over the course of his career.

Last season, Melton caught 55 passes for 618 yards and 3 touchdowns.
