Last season was not kind to Rutgers, and that is a gigantic understatement.

Chris Ash’s squad finished 2018 with a 1-11 record after ending the year on an 11-game losing streak. The Scarlet Knights went winless in the B1G while also getting blown out by Kansas and Buffalo.

Despite the abysmal season, quarterback Artur Sitkowski and the rest of the team are not backing down from expectations heading into the season. During an appearance on the BTN Bus Tour Friday, Sitkowski explained that the Knights are looking to be much better in 2019:

“Our biggest thing is ‘MITIA:’ Most Improved Team in America,” explained Sitkowski. “The way we’re gonna do that is by getting one percent better every single day. We can’t control how August 30 is gonna pan out. What we can control is what we are going to do today.”

In terms of personal improvement, Sitkowski is certainly hoping to put last season behind him. He completed just 49% of his passes while throwing just four touchdowns with an FBS-leading 18 interceptions.
