Rutgers hoops has been gaining a lot of momentum with only B1G matchups left on the schedule. BTN analyst Andy Katz is pretty high on the Scarlet Knights at this point in the year.

Katz predicted that Rutgers will compete for the B1G title, get a double bye in the B1G Tournament, and be a decent seed in the NCAA Tournament. Rutgers may be getting hot at the right time, riding a five-game win streak after the Maryland victory on Thursday.

There is no question that Rutgers can, I’m not saying they will, win the B1G. First of all, they’re done playing Purdue. One shot at Purdue at they won, so they’ve already got the tiebreaker. We’ll see how they plays out. They’e got Ohio State at home, so they’ve got a chance to even that up. They will get the double bye, they will be in contention for the B1G title, and will be a decent seed in the NCAA Tournament.

The Scarlet Knights are now 11-4 after the 64-50 win over the Terps. Now that Purdue out of the way, Katz believes Rutgers has a legitimate shot at claiming the B1G title.

Can Steve Pikiell guide the Scarlet Knights to the promised land?
