Carroo allegedly 'slammed woman's head into concrete'
Rutgers star receiver Leonte Carroo slammed a woman with whom he had been romantically involved into the concrete outside the football training center Saturday night, according to a complaint filed in Piscataway municipal court and obtained by NorthJersey.com.
Carroo is being accused of “picking her up and slamming her down on a concrete surface, injuring her left hip, both palms, left elbow and left side of the head.”
According to the publication, a fight between two women sparked the confrontation outside of the team’s facility.
Carroo was suspended indefinitely on Sunday and charged with simple assault under domestic violence on Monday. Rutgers coach Kyle Flood declined an opportunity to comment on the allegations surrounding the Big Ten’s leading receiver, and didn’t give a timetable as to when or if he’d be able to return to the team.
Carroo was the seventh Rutgers player to be arrested in the last three weeks. He’s the only one of those players that hasn’t been kicked off the team.
The school’s all-time touchdown receptions leader will not be in action when the Scarlet Knights take on Penn State on Saturday to kick off Big Ten play.
