One of the best secondary players in the history of the New England Patriots is a Rutgers alum. Former Scarlet Knights star Devin McCourty climbed into third place for interceptions in franchise history during the team’s shutout victory at the Atlanta Falcons.

The 34-year-old McCourty recorded the interception in the fourth quarter:

The 5-foot-10, 195-pound McCourty now has 30 career interceptions, behind only the 36 of Ty Law and Raymond Clayborn for the franchise:

The three-time Super Bowl champion was drafted by the Patriots in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft and is a three-time Second-team All-Pro (2010, 2013, 2016). McCourty was selected to PFF’s Second-team for All-Decade of the 2010’s.

During his time at Rutgers, McCourty was a First-team All-Big East selection in 2009 and amassed 149 solo tackles, six interceptions, and two touchdowns.
