ESPN's FPI predicts the outcome of Rutgers' Week 3 battle versus Temple
Rutgers is undefeated heading into Week 3 of the college football season following wins over Boston College and Wagner.
And according to ESPN’s FPI metric, the Scarlet Knights are favored to improve to 3-0 after this Saturday when the team travels to Temple to take on the 1-1 Owls. Rutgers is currently favored to win with 89.6% certainty, per ESPN.
Perhaps that has more to do with the Owls rather than the Scarlet Knights. Temple lost its opening week clash against Duke 30-0 before rebounding and downing Lafayette in Week 2, 30-14.
Rutgers has allowed just 24 rushing yards per game through the first few weeks, a number that will likely stay around that mark after Saturday. Temple has a weak run game – their leading rusher has only accrued 71 yards across 2 games.
The Scarlet Knights duel against Temple at Lincoln Financial Field at 2 pm EST.
