A former Rutgers tight end has found a new home.

On Tuesday afternoon, Nakia Griffin-Stewart announced via Twitter that he committed to Pitt, where he’ll finish his academic and athletic career. As a graduate transfer, the tight end will be immediately available to play for the Panthers in 2019.

This season will mark the final year of eligibility for Griffin-Stewart.

Griffin-Stewart was expected to be a big part of Rutgers’ offense in 2018, but he caught just two passes for 10 yards. He started in four games for the Scarlet Knights.

In 2017, Griffin-Stewart played in all 12 games, totaling 11 receptions for 87 yards and a touchdown.

Pitt finished the 2018 season with a 7-7 record and went 6-2 in ACC play. The Panthers earned a trip to the ACC Championship Game and appeared in the Sun Bowl.
