When it comes to speed in the 40-yard dash time, no B1G wide receiver posted a better time than former Rutgers standout Bo Melton. The ex-Scarlet Knight had the fifth-fastest time at the position and ranked first compared to other conference receivers.

Melton posted an impressive 4.34 time during the 40-yard dash this week. Those times beat out former Ohio State wide receivers Garrett Wilson (4.38) and Chris Olave (4.39). The former Rutgers star posted the time on his second attempt.

Below is the clip:

Melton was one of Rutgers’ top playmakers offensively over the past 5 seasons. His speed was a big reason why he was the top target in the passing attack.

During the 2021 season, Melton had 55 catches for 628 yards and 3 touchdowns. He left Rutgers with 2,011 yards on 164 catches and also added 165 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns on the ground.

Melton also played a role on special teams during his time in Piscataway.

Because of Rutgers’ struggles through most of his career, Melton didn’t receive quite as much attention as he deserved. He’s making his name known in Indianapolis this week, though.
