Former Rutgers star Logan Ryan caps crazy week with clutch game-sealing interception
Logan Ryan capped off an emotional week with his fourth-quarter interception securing just the second win of the season for the New York Giants.
Ryan’s interception with 1:15 left in the game stopped any hopes the Washington Football Team had of making a comeback. Ryan and the Giants emerged with a 23-20 victory to improve to 2-6 on the season.

The Rutgers product finished the game with six tackles and two passes defended along with the game-clinching interception.
Ryan signed as a free agent with the Giants during the season. Last year, he was a pivotal part of the Tennessee Titans as they made the AFC Championship Game.
It was a difficult week for Ryan, whose wife experienced abdominal pain while the Giants cornerback was in New Jersey following his team’s Monday night game. At the time, his wife was in Florida.
Ryan was told of the symptoms on a phone call with his wife and then asked Giants trainer Justin Maher what to do. In his conversation with Maher, Ryan was advised to go to the hospital. There in the emergency room, Ryan’s wife was diagnosed with a fertilized egg that was growing outside of her uterus, a condition that could be fatal.
She was saved due to surgery.
“I’m not married, so I can’t imagine what he was going through. To be honest, you wouldn’t even tell by the way he comes to work every day,” Giants defensive back Jabrill Peppers told reporters after the game.
“He’s a leader, he has experience, and he’s hard on us. I watched the interview, and I didn’t even know. He didn’t talk about it with us. That’s just the way he is, he’s a pro’s pro. We pray for his family, and I’m happy for him to be able to end the game for us after such an emotional week. I can only imagine what he was going through.”
Peppers, a multi-year starter at Michigan and a former first-round pick, had six tackles, an interception, and a fumble recovery in the Giants win.
