Former Rutgers star Mohamed Sanu is still making plays.

Sanu is entering Year 10 in the NFL and trying to carve out a role for himself with the San Fransisco 49ers.

Performances like this will help. Late in the first half in a preseason game against the Chargers on Sunday night, Sanu caught a touchdown pass from first-round pick Trey Lance as the clock ticked below 10 seconds.

The 49ers were out of timeouts, so this pass had to be either a touchdown or an incomplete pass. Credit to both Lance and Sanu for executing this play:

Sanu spent last season with 49ers and the Detroit Lions. In total, he caught 24 passes for 187 yards and 1 touchdown.

The 49ers have several top receiving options, including Brandon Aiyuck, Deebo Samuel and tight end George Kittle. Competition for snaps could be fierce.

The 49ers open their season on Sept. 12 against the Detroit Lions.
