The Green Bay packers have signed former Rutgers wide receiver Bo Melton after placing defensive lineman Dean Lowry on injured reserve, the organization announced on Tuesday.

While at Rutgers, Melton had the 6th-most receptions in program history with 164 and 10th in total receiving yards with 2011. Melton’s best statistical season came in 2020 where he racked up 707 all-purpose yards and 9 total touchdowns (6 receiving, 2 rushing, 1 kick return). However, he received All-B1G 3rd team honors in his final season in 2021.

Melton was selected in the 7th round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks. He has yet to appear in a NFL game being a member of their practice squad, but he saw the field in the preseason. He could find an opportunity in a thin Packers receiving room late in the season. Melton will wear No. 80 with the team.
