Greg Schiano is heading into Year 4 of his return to Rutgers, and there is some work to do moving into the 2023 season.

After a 5-7 record and bowl game appearance during the 2021 season, Rutgers took a slight step back with a 4-8 record in 2022. The 1-8 record in conference play was also the worst for the program since an 0-9 B1G record in 2019.

As the program prepares for spring practices, Schiano and Rutgers football announced the date for the annual Scarlet-White Spring Game. This year, it will be played on April 29 as a celebration of Rutgers Day.

That spring game will provide fans with some of their first glimpses at new OC Kirk Ciarrocca. After the struggles on offense, Schiano nabbed Ciarrocca away from PJ Fleck’s Minnesota staff for the 2023 season.

One of the big keys for Ciarrocca and the program at large will be finding the best way to unlock the talent of QB Gavin Wimsatt. We’ll see how things look when the team hits the field in April.
