Greg Schiano discusses tenure in Columbus, relationship with Ryan Day ahead of Week 3 vs OSU
It’s going to be a bit of a homecoming for Rutgers head coach Greg Schiano this weekend. He will make his first return back to Ohio State since he was let go following the 2018 season.
He spoke at his press conference Monday about the time he had with OSU and he said, (via Dan Hope of Eleven Warriors) “There’s a lot of really good people that I had a chance to work with at Ohio State that they’ll be lifelong friends, so I look at it as a great experience.”
Schiano also spoke about his relationship with OSU head coach Ryan Day and said, “We’re close. He’s an excellent football coach. He and his family are great people. And when we go to compete, we compete. Otherwise, we’re friends.”
It’s cool to see that Schiano still has respect and relationships for those within the Ohio State program. However, coming away with a win in Week 3 will be incredibly difficult for the Scarlet Knights. Can Schiano and Rutgers slow down star quarterback Justin Fields and company?
The game will kickoff at 7:30 p.m. ET on the Big Ten Network.
