Rutgers QB Noah Vedral was injured last week in a tough loss to Wisconsin 52-3 at home. Head coach Greg Schiano provided the Scarlet Knight faithful with some good news on Tuesday morning.

“I think Noah is going to progress during the week, said Schiano. “I think he’ll be available, I can’t be sure.”

Rutgers will need its starting QB if they want to reach bowl eligibility as the Scarlet Knights need to win 2 of its last 3 games of the year.

The Scarlet Knights’ remaining schedule is at Indiana, at Penn State and home against Maryland to finish the season.

It would be quite the accomplishment for Schiano in his second stint with the team to have Rutgers become bowl eligible for the first time in just his 2nd year back in Piscataway.

The Scarlet Knights have not reached a bowl game since its inaugural season in the B1G; they went 8-5 that season, winning the Quick Lane Bowl against North Carolina 40-21.
