Immediate eligibility appeal approved by NCAA for Rutgers QB
There’s now a three-person battle for the starting quarterback position at Rutgers.
On Thursday, Scarlet Nation reported that former Boston College and current Rutgers quarterback Johnny Langan has had his immediate eligibility appeal approved and will be eligible for the 2019 season in Piscataway. The NCAA denied his initial waiver request.
Langan joins a battle that has been headlined by incumbent starter Artur Sitkowski and Texas Tech transfer McLane Carter. If nothing else, it provides the Scarlet Knights with some depth at the position, something it has seriously lacked in recent years.

A native of New Jersey, Langan was a member of Boston College’s 2018 recruiting class. He was a three-star, pro-style quarterback, ranked as the No. 43 player at his position in the cycle. He was also one of the to 35 players out of his home state.
Langan left Boston College after one season.
