Jaden Jones has reportedly decided to stay in the 2022 NBA Draft, ending his Rutgers career. College basketball insider Jon Rothstein shared the news Sunday on Twitter.

Jones declared for the NBA Draft on March 18. The deadline for early entrants to withdraw is June 1.

“I have gained a lot of from my experience as a Scarlet Knight and have grown tremendously because of it. Thanks to my teammates for pushing me to be better everyday. I enjoyed the ride,” Jones wrote in his March announcement. “Thanks to the Rutgers Nation Fans. I will never forget the energy at Jersey Mike’s Arena. The loud cheers after I scored will always be remembered.

“My dream has always been to play in the NBA. After prayer and discussing this with my family, I feel that there is no better than now to pursue this dream. As I will be entering the 2022 NBA Draft.”

Jones, a freshman forward, appeared in 17 games for the Scarlet Knights in the 2021-22 season. In just over 10 minutes of playing time per contest, he averaged 3.6 points and 1.2 rebounds while shooting 36.4% from the floor.
