John Harbaugh will be without 1 of his running backs for at least the 1st 4 games of the season. Former Rutgers RB Gus Edwards was moved to the reserve/PUP list on Tuesday per ESPN’s Jamison Hensley.

Edwards was another 1 of the Baltimore Ravens’ running backs who went on the IR last season. Last September he tore his ACL during practice, and missed the entire season. This move isn’t surprising to Harbaugh, who wasn’t expecting Edwards to be ready at the beginning of the season anyways.

“We did not expect him to be back probably the first part of [the season],” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said. “Gus is still on schedule and I fully expect him to play quite a bit of football this year.”

While Harbaugh will have to change things up for those 1st few weeks, he still expects Edwards to be a contributor in the run game. That will all depend on how fast Edwards recovers from his injury.

“It just depends on how fast he recovers and how good he looks when he comes back,” Harbaugh said.
