You knew it was bad when Greg Jones wasn’t moving.

The Rutgers linebacker was taken off on a stretcher and taken to the hospital after a helmet-to-helmet collision with a teammate during last week’s game at Ohio State.

As it turned out, that was the last play of Jones’ career. According to NJ.com, Jones’ career is over.

The redshirt senior went through tests in the New Jersey area this week, who determined that his 2016 season was finished.

Jones walked on at Rutgers and played running back, safety and cornerback before finally settling in as a linebacker. Without him, true freshman Tyreek Maddox-Williams is expected to take over as the starter.

Rutgers will host No. 4 Michigan at 7 p.m. ET.
