Rutgers is getting a good one in freshman defensive lineman Q’yaeir Price.
A 3-star prospect and 6-foot-2 and 255 lb. DL in the class of 2022, Price committed to the Scarlet Knights in November and signed during the Early Signing Period in December. Price was also rated the No. 13 prospect out of New Jersey for the cycle by the 247 Sports Composite Rankings.
On Tuesday, Price was honored for his senior season. He received the North Jersey Defensive Player of the Year Award for his senior performance at DePaul Catholic High School in Wayne, New Jersey.

Price was an early enrollee with Rutgers in January. It will be interesting to see if he’s able to crack some playing time as a true freshman in 2022.
