The introduction of the Name, Image and Likeness era has significantly altered the landscape of college athletics. Programs across the country have seized the opportunity as others try to keep up.

On Thursday, student-athletes at Rutgers received positive news that a NIL collective was being launched with them in mind. Titled “Knights of the Raritan,” the collective is designed to give Scarlet Knight student-athletes “resources and opportunities” during their time at Rutgers.

“Knights of The Raritan (KTR) was created for all student-athletes that represent Rutgers University,” reads the home page for KTR. “KTR’s mission is to provide those student-athletes with the resources and opportunities they deserve during their time On The Banks.

“KTR was formed to provide innovative ways for student-athletes to earn experience, develop philanthropy and benefit from compensation while at Rutgers University. The alumni and supporters of Knights of The Raritan are committed to giving current and future Scarlet Knights the opportunity to leverage their name, image and likeness during their time in New Brunswick and Piscataway, while partnering with one of the nation’s largest alumni networks.”

Hopefully this collective allows Rutgers to keep pace in the ever-evolving world of college athletics.
