Rutgers has added a quarterback to its 2020 recruiting class.

Monday afternoon, three-star pro-style quarterback Evan Simon announced his commitment to Rutgers. He had over a dozen offers and was ranked as one of the top 40 pro-style passers in the 2020 class, according to 247Sports.

“Dreams do come true!!!” Simon wrote on Twitter. “I would like to thank my parents and coaches for being behind me during this process. They have helped make me the man I am today. With that being said I’ve decided to further my education and football career at Rutgers University.”

A native of Manheim, Pennsylvania, Simon has raked in over a dozen offers in the recruiting cycle. In addition to Rutgers, he was receiving interest from Minnesota, Colorado, Syracuse, West Virginia, Cincinnati and Bowling Green, among others.

Simon becomes just the second prospect in the 2020 class to commit to the Scarlet Knights, joining three-star athlete Sofian Massoud. Rutgers ranked last in the B1G in the recruiting rankings prior to Simon’s commitment.

Per 247Sports’ rankings, Simon is listed as the fifth-best prospect out of the state of Pennsylvania and is listed as the No. 34 pro-style quarterback in the class.
