Rutgers has a problem. People can point toward many things right now as being a problem, but for starters, it needs a permanent head coach.

Currently, Nunzio Campanile is the interim coach. But, again, the Scarlet Knights need a permanent one. Many have called for former Rutgers coach Greg Schiano to take the job.

While at Rutgers from 2001-11, Schiano went 68-67 overall and in six of his final seven seasons, the Scarlet Knights finished above .500. Schiano even helped put together an 11-2 Rutgers team in 2006.

Reports have surfaced that Rutgers wants Schiano and vice versa. However, Schiano has specific demands that are making matters a bit more complicated:

Schiano is seeking an eight-year contract and unlimited jet use among other things. If Rutgers wants Schiano, that’s fine. But, they will have to give into his demands. Are they too much?

We’ll find out sooner than later.
