Chris Ash is making a change to his coaching staff.

According to a report from NJ.com, Ash is expected to hire former Maryland defensive coordinator Andy Buh for the same role at Rutgers. He will replace Jay Niemann, who has served in the position for the last three seasons in Piscataway.

NJ.com is also reporting that Rutgers is expected to move on from outside linebackers and specialists coach Toby Neinas.

Rutgers finished the 2018 campaign with a 1-11 record, with the only win coming against Texas State in the season opener. It marked the second time in three seasons that the Scarlet Knights did not win a B1G contest, finishing 0-9.

Buh brings over 20 years of coaching experience to the Scarlet Knights. He spent the past three seasons as the defensive coordinator at Maryland and also spent time at Wisconsin in 2012, the same year Ash was on staff. He’s also had stops at Stanford, Nevada and Cal.

In three seasons at Rutgers, Ash is just 7-29. He’s been forced to make some significant changes on his staff over the last two offseasons to try and develop a winning product.
