Greg Schiano has just added an in-state cornerback to their 2022 recruiting class.

Most of the 2022 class has wrapped but that doesn’t mean schools aren’t still taking more recruits this late in the process.

Thomas Amankwaa announced his commitment to the Scarlet Knights on Monday morning via his Twitter account as he will be staying home.

Amankwaa doesn’t have a composite ranking on 247sports, but his regular rating on the website grades him out to be a 3-star. He’s ranked as the No. 19 player in New Jersey and N0. 100 cornerback in the country as well.

Before committing to Rutgers, Amankwaa had interest from Akron, Ball State, Kent State, Marshall, Pitt, Syracuse, and many more.

The crystal ball predictions started to come in for Rutgers on Saturday as Brian Dohn (the National Recruiting Analyst for 247Sports) was one who put one in at a level 7 probability.

With this commitment, Rutgers now has the No. 19 recruiting class in the country for 2022 and the No. 4 class in the B1G overall.
