Rutgers continues to pile up the pledges on the recruiting front.

Over the weekend, the Scarlet Knights received a verbal commitment from three-star offensive lineman Tyler Needham. He became the 21st prospect in the 2021 recruiting class to join Rutgers. Needham made his announcement with a post on Twitter.

“I’m SUPER excited to announce that I’ve committed to Rutgers University,” Needham wrote. “I want to thank the many people who have helped me get to this point, but there is still a lot of work to be done.”

Needham ranks as the No. 25 player out of Pennsylvania, according to 247Sports. He’s also listed as the No. 103 offensive tackle of the cycle. The 6-foot-4, 265-pound lineman received 17 offers during the recruiting process.

Rutgers beat out Arizona State, Army, Boston College, Maryland, Wake Forest, West Virginia and others for Needham’s pledge.

With Needham’s commitment, Rutgers ranks 19th nationally and seventh in the B1G. The Scarlet Knights now have four offensive linemen verbally committed in the 2021 class.
