Rutgers adds two preferred walk-ons to 2021 class, including son of Tampa Bay Buccaneers DC
Rutgers has added two walk-ons to their 2021 class, one of them being Todd Bowles Jr.
Bowles is the son of Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive coordinator Todd Bowles, who also coached the New York Jets before landing that gig.
I am truly blessed and extremely excited to announce my commitment to Rutgers university🪓🖤 @RFootball @aaronyoung04 @Azy_02 @jgsusanjr @GregSchiano @st8upfam @JesuitTigers_FB pic.twitter.com/Rz2IWTZFcS

Bowles Jr. isn’t rated on 247Sports but detailed in a story from Bobby Deren why he chose to commit to the Scarlet Knights. He said:
“I got off a call yesterday with the coaches,” Bowles said. “I liked what I saw and what I heard. They showed me how Rutgers is mostly like a family and it is a place where I am going to fit in. Rutgers has always been one of the places I wanted to go. Meeting the coaches great.”
The commitment for Bowles Jr. also makes sense since Rutgers head coach Greg Schiano was the former head coach of the Buccaneers and still has ties to the area.
Jordan Kinsler was the second player to accept a PWO from Rutgers on Monday evening:
After an amazing conversation with @GregSchiano I’m extremely Blessed and Proud to accept a PWO offer to Rutgers. @CoachHoffmannRU @Coach_Hewitt86 @KinslerLatish @Aollicib pic.twitter.com/PUoIdyqKsr
