Rutgers is enlisting some outside help in the search for its next head coach.

The Scarlet Knights officially brought the Chris Ash era to an end just four games into the 2019 season. A 1-3 start to the season left Rutgers with an 8-32 overall record under Ash. Unfortunately, Rutgers is also 0-2 so far under interim Nunzio Campanile while being outscored 83-7 in those games.

As the Scarlet Knights continue their search for the next permanent head coach, AD Pat Hobbs announced the university will be enlisting the help of a search firm in the process.

ScarletKnights.com shared Hobbs’ announcement:

“We are excited to be working with Ventura Partners,” said Hobbs. “They provide a unique range of services, including talent acquisition and development. We will begin working together immediately to ensure excellent leadership for our football program. They will also be working with us throughout the engagement on strengthening our human resources and providing market data and intelligence.”

Regardless of who Rutgers uses, its important the university gets the right man for the job this time around. The Scarlet Knights have not posted a winning record or trip to a bowl game since 2014 under Kyle Flood. That ended a streak of four straight years with a trip to a bowl game for Rutgers from 2011-14.
