Add Rutgers to the list of B1G schools planning to welcome back fans at full capacity for the upcoming college football season.

Wednesday morning, the school announced its plans to have SHI Stadium at 100% capacity for the 2021 season. It joins a growing list of schools from the B1G to plan for full attendance policies for football games.

The news comes a year after the B1G restricted attendance to only family members of players and coaches for games in the 2020 season. Rutgers made the announcement with multiple posts on social media.

“Rutgers football will be welcoming fans in full attendance when it opens the 2021 season at SHI Stadium. The announcement follows updated state guidance allowing outdoor venues to operate at full capacity,” Rutgers said in a statement. “The Scarlet Knights will host six home games during the 2021 season, including a primetime kickoff against Temple University to start the Labor Day Weekend on Thursday, Sept. 2.”

Rutgers was one of just two teams in the B1G to play all nine games during the 2020 season, the other being Penn State.

This season, Rutgers will host six games. The Scarlet Knights will play Temple, Delaware, Ohio State, Michigan State, Wisconsin and Maryland at SHI Stadium.
